Case 1:12-cv-01769-RC (D.D.C 2015)
On December 11, 2015, a federal jury awarded $555,000 in back pay and other damages to our client, Jennifer B. Campbell, former Chief Operating Officer of the DC Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), after a 4-day jury trial before Judge Contreras. We proved that DHCF Director Wayne Turnage violated her due process rights by failing to question about serious allegations before disclosing them to the media, harming her ability to find a new job. After the verdict, Jennifer told reporters, “I feel as though I finally have been able to voice the truth and be heard.”
The District of Columbia appealed the jury verdict, and in 2018, the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit upheld the award.
