A federal employee with more than 20 years of excellent performance retained us to respond to a proposed suspension for alleged insubordination. Based on the response we submitted, the agency rescinded the proposal. However, the proposed discipline prevented our client from being deployed to Afghanistan. We then filed an EEO complaint for the client, alleging sex discrimination. Through a FOIA request, we were able to obtain helpful evidence of her damages. The agency agreed to settle the case by paying our client $80,000 and expunging negative items from her personnel file.
