A federal employee retained us to defend a proposed demotion based on allegations that he failed to follow policy, engaged in unprofessional conduct toward coworkers, and AWOL. We argued that the charges were retaliation for the client’s protected EEO activity and were fabricated and exaggerated in order to shift blame from the responsible parties on to our client. Based on our response, the Agency reduced the proposed penalty from a demotion to a 10 day suspension.
