Our client had always received successful performance ratings during her 28-year federal career. However, she got a new supervisor, who placed her on a performance improvement plan (PIP), denied her a within-grade increase, and proposed her removal. Due to her age and years of service, our client was able to apply for discontinued service retirement. We were able to negotiate a settlement that provided our client with about two months of paid administrative leave and reimbursement of her attorney’s fees.
