Federal Employee Discipline: Internal Revenue Service

Our client was an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employee who received a proposed removal for improperly accessing taxpayer information without official reason to do so and failing to adhere to written regulations, orders, rules or procedures.  The client retained us to submit a response.  Based on our arguments, the deciding official agreed that removal was inappropriate and reduced the penalty to a three-day suspension.
